On April 30 of this year, the Latvian airline airBaltic will begin to offer direct flights from Riga to the Swedish city of Norrköping. During the summer season, this will be the 47th route offered by airBaltic from Riga. Altogether, the airline plans 10 new destinations from Riga during the summer of 2008.

airBaltic president and CEO Bertolt Flick said; “Norrköping, like Gothenburg in Sweden and Oulu in Finland, is an important regional centre. There is much demand there for flights to Riga, both as a final destination and as a city from which transit flights to other important cities in the airBaltic network are available.”

Initially airBaltic will offer direct flights from Riga to Norrköping three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The flights will be offered on Fokker 50 aircraft and will last for one hour and 35 minutes. One-way tickets will start at LVL 22 (SEK 346), including airport and transaction fees.

airBaltic at this time offers flights to seven Scandinavian cities – Bergen, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo, Oulu, Stavanger and Stockholm. In addition to Norrköping, airBaltic will also be offering direct flights to Billund in Denmark, Kuopio in Finland and Ålesund in Norway.
