airBaltic to launch direct flights from Riga to Chisinau

17th March 2008 Print
The Latvian airline airBaltic will launch nonstop flights from Riga to the Moldovan capital city of Chisinau on April 1 of this year.

airBaltic president and CEO Bertolt Flick: “The route to Chisinau means that we are continuing to expand the airBaltic network of flights to the East. Last September we launched flights from Vilnius to Chisinau, and we are convinced that flights between Chisinau and Riga will be very popular for transit passengers, as well as travelers who make use of the advantages of direct flights.”

Initially airBaltic will offer departures to Chisinau three times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flights will be operated by Fokker 50 aircraft and will last for three hours and 10 minutes. One-way tickets will start at LVL 42, including airport and transaction fees.

airBaltic first launched flights from Vilnius to Chisinau in September 2007, and that was the first of several routes from Vilnius to destinations to its East.
