New and unique travel guide for Latvia

9th May 2008 Print
Starting from today a travel guide for independent travellers about the largest and the most exciting cities in the world will be available for purchase. The guide is published by online magazine for independent travellers – Anothertravelguide.com in co-operation with the Latvian national airline airBaltic.

Similar to the online magazine, this new printed edition has been created as a practical travel book offering the most essential information about each of the cities and it is also a source of inspiration in order to see seemingly familiar places in a different way.

Anothertravelguide.com will be available for purchase at Statoil fuel stations, airBaltic ticket offices in Riga Airport, Berga Baz?rs, Reval Hotel Latvija and the regional offices of the airline in Liep?ja and Daugavpils, as well as on airBaltic flights.
According to the authors of the edition – Una Meistere and Andrejs Žagars:

“During the year since portal for independent travellers operates in Internet anothertravelguide.com, different people have shared their travel discoveries, recommendations and routes with us. People with special taste and extremists. Cultural tourists, gourmands, surfers and snowboarders. Popular people and ordinary yet passionate travellers. Therefore, the idea of issuing a printed copy shall be deemed natural.

“The author of this idea is the main supporter of the portal, Bertolt Flick, the President of airBaltic. This travel guide has been created as essence of inspiration where everyone can find something the most needed for him or herself at a particular moment. A place, feeling, idea, happening, impulse. Does not matter whether it is a business or leisure trip.”

The first edition of the travel guide is dedicated to five European metropolises: Berlin, London, Madrid, Rome and Paris. Cities with their special, unique nerve and the delight of possible sensations: museums, exhibitions, gourmet restaurants, authentic bistros, bars, cafés, tea houses, stylish and charming bed&breakfast hotels, concept stores and legendary bookshops.

Anothertravelguide.com offers unusual travel routes and recommendations from city spirit finders. The following popular people have shared their discoveries and recommendations: architect Andis S?lis, fashion designer Nat?lija Jansone, photographer Valts Kleins, textile artist Laima Kaugure, painter Hel?na Heinrihsone, writer Pauls Bankovskis, and many others.

Bertolt Flick, the President and CEO of airBaltic, comments: “The number of travelers who wish to enjoy their journey is ever increasing, they wish to see already familiar cities from a different point of view or to visit places in the world which are usually not covered in common guidebooks. We are truly glad that, due to our many newly opened routes, we can bring people to their desired destinations and, with the help of our guidebook, to give useful advice in planning their trips.“

Anothertravelguide.com will be issued on a quarterly basis, on 176 pages and will provide updated and useful information for travellers.
