airBaltic announces co-operation with Eurolines Baltic

airBaltic and Eurolines Baltic have concluded a sales co-operation agreement to offer an expanded network of routes to their passengers. The two companies will offer each other’s services to clients. This cooperation will improve the offer that is made to passengers, because a greater number of destinations will become available for people who wish to combine a flight with a bus trip or to reach locations to which airBaltic does not fly to directly.

Bertolt Flick, president and CEO of airBaltic: "Many of our passengers travel not only to or from Riga, which is airBaltic’s main hub, but also to other cities in the Baltic States. airBaltic is pleased to welcome Eurolines Baltic as a reliable partner which will help us to strengthen our network of routes with new destinations that can be reached via their bus services."

Hannes Saarpuu, managing director and CEO of Eurolines Baltic: "We have been witnessing decreasing use of our long distance routes to Europe, because such services have partly been taken over by airlines such as airBaltic. That is a normal trend. We are, therefore, focusing on the Baltic States, improving our schedules and investing in the services that we provide. airBaltic is certainly an important component in allowing us to offer more flexibility and convenience to our clients in the Baltic States.

“The best example is the link between Klaipeda and Riga. Eurolines recently launched Lux Express services three times a day, and airBaltic does not fly to Klaipeda at this time. We are offering better services than other bus companies have been providing to clients in the Klaipeda region, and we will now help to provide passengers for airBaltic flights from Riga to various destinations in the world."

airBaltic has a similar co-operation system with Deutsche Bahn in terms of rail and flight services in Germany.
