airBaltic launches direct flights from Riga to Tampere

airBaltic launches direct flights from Riga to Tampere, Finland, on October 1 of this year. This will be already the fourth destination served by airBaltic in Finland.

Bertolt Flick, president and CEO of airBaltic, comments: "Over the last year, the flow of both business and leisure travellers has increased between Finland and Latvia as a result of strengthening ties between the two countries. We have followed these developments closely and have already opened new routes to Oulu, Kuopio, as well as increased the number of flights to Helsinki. Consequently, Tampere is a logical next step and we have a great degree of confidence in this new route."

airBaltic will offer direct flights from Riga to Tampere twice a day – in the morning and evening – throughout the week. The direct flights will be served by Fokker 50 aircraft and will last for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Information about fares can be found on the website at Airbaltic.com.

Tampere is the second largest and most visited city of Finland with rich industrial heritage. The central part of the city is situated between lakes, having more than two hundred lakes in its area. Tampere is a popular congress venue and leisure destination for young people, families and culture enthusiasts.
