1 million passengers carried this year by airBaltic

The number of passengers carried by Latvian airline airBaltic in 2008 reached one million this June. For the first time in its history, the airline has carried a million passengers in six months. Last year airBaltic registered its millionth passenger in July, in 2006 – in September, in 2005 – in December.

The Latvian airline airBaltic carried 249,995 passengers in June 2008, or 26% more than in the same month in 2007, when airBaltic transported 198,040 passengers.

During the first six months of 2008, airBaltic transported a total of 1,118,917 passengers, or 29% more than during the same period in 2007, when the total number of passengers was 866,375.

In June, airBaltic operated 4,376 flights, or 28% more than the 3,409 flights of June 2007. Between January and the end of June, the airline increased its number of flights by 33% over the same period in 2007 - up to 22,061 flights in all.

Cabin factor in June 2008 was at a level of 64%. During the first six months of 2008 airline’s cabin factor was at a level of 58%.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 75.26% in June 2008. This means that more than 75 of every 100 airBaltic flights in June departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
