airBaltic passenger numbers reach 2 million

For the first time in its history, the Latvian airline airBaltic has carried two million passengers in ten months. Last year airBaltic reached its two millionth passenger in December.

The Latvian airline airBaltic carried 235,598 passengers in October 2008, or 22% more than in the same month in 2007, when airBaltic transported 192,409 passengers.

During the ten months of 2008, airBaltic transported a total of 2,207,215 passengers, or 31% more than during the same period in 2007, when the total number of passengers was 1,686,334.

In October, airBaltic operated 4,341 flights, or 23% more than the 3,526 flights of October 2007. Between January and the end of October, the airline increased its number of flights by 32% over the same period in 2007 - up to 40,154 flights in all.

Cabin factor in October 2008 was at a level of 62%. During the ten months of 2008 airline’s cabin factor was at a level of 63%.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 86.0% in October 2008. This means 86 of every 100 airBaltic flights in October departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
