airBaltic passengers grows by 31% at Riga base

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 258,051 passenger in June 2009 (from Riga and Vilnius), representing 3% more than in the same month in 2008, when airBaltic transported 249,995 passengers.

In June this year, the number of passengers at the base of airBaltic in Riga has increased by 31% compared to the same period last year.

During the first six months of 2009, airBaltic transported a total of 1,205,231 passengers, some 8% more than during the same period in 2008, when the total number of passengers was 1,118,917.

In June, airBaltic operated 3,965 flights, or 9% fewer than the 4,376 flights of June 2008. Between January and the end of June, the airline operated 21,138 flights in all.

Passenger load factor in June 2009 was at a level of 72%, or 8% points more than in June 2008. During the first six months of 2009 airline’s passenger load factor was at a level of 65%, or 7% points more than during the same period in 2008.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was also at a level of 91.7% in June 2009. This means that more than 91 of every 100 airBaltic flights in June departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
