airBaltic launches online travel agency for low cost holidays

9th September 2009 Print
This week, the internet travel agency airBalticTravel.com, of the Latvian national airline airBaltic, has started to offer flight and hotel packages, so that its customers can enjoy cheaper and more convenient planning of their leisure and business trips.

Bertolt Flick, President and CEO of airBaltic: “Besides flights, airBaltic already provides many additional services: insurance, car rental, express bus, hotels, –enabling the travellers to buy services that were traditionally offered by travel agencies. Some time ago, Latvian travel agencies noticed the active expansion of airBaltic and presented us a gift – a cactus to symbolise airBaltic’s unfriendliness and threat to the business of travel agencies.

“By launching airBalticTravel.com and by starting to offer cheaper packages of flights and hotels, airBaltic is expanding even further into the field of travel agencies. Therefore, we expect at least one more cactus as a present from travel agencies. We would be even a bit disappointed not to receive one.”

Starting this week, Internet travel agency airBalticTravel.com offers travel packages, and it means that travellers will have an opportunity to buy a package (flight and hotel) for typically 20% discount compared to buying each item separately. Currently, the Internet travel agency offers more than 23,000 hotels in 120 countries worldwide, and airBalticTravel.com also guarantees the lowest price for hotel rooms and flights.

The lowest price guarantee from airBalticTravel.com means that price difference shall be compensated to a customer who has found identical service for lower price comparing to the Internet travel agency of airBaltic.

airBalticTravel.com offers also destination guides in order to assist its customers in planning their leisure and business trips.
