New Year 'World Offers' sale launches

British Airways’ New Year sale starts with huge discounts on 4.5 million seats to 140 destinations worldwide.

Travellers craving the sun can get away to Bermuda from just £399 (saving up to £272) or a host of Caribbean destinations from £419 including Grand Cayman (saving up to £279), Barbados (saving up to £149), Kingston (saving up to £163) and Antigua and St Lucia (saving up to £137 each).

Cape Town is up to £284 less than usual at £469 and Johannesburg has 50 per cent off, now available from £419 (saving up to £280).

Holiday hotspots Orlando, Tampa and Miami feature in the sale from £329 (saving up to £176, £177 and £182 respectively). Savings of up to 55 per cent are to be had to Los Angeles with prices starting from £319 (saving up to £192).

Other U.S. destinations are also available with New York on sale from £279 (saving up to £147), Boston, Baltimore and Philadelphia from £289 (saving up to £137 each) and San Francisco from £319 (saving up to £192). Canadian ski spots are easily accessible via Vancouver and Calgary, with flights starting from just £389 (saving up to £215).

Culture vultures can enjoy Delhi from £349 (saving up to £97), Cairo from £299 (saving up to £113), Tokyo from £559 (saving up to £288) and Beijing and Shanghai from £419 (saving up to £145 and £125 respectively).

Thanks to the airline’s codeshare with Qantas fares are also available in the sale to a range of Australian destinations including Sydney for £618, Melbourne and Brisbane from £687 and Adelaide from £694 (saving up to £102 each).

European destinations including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid and Marseille start from just £30 one-way Naples, Zurich, Verona and Pisa start from £34 one-way.

Customers travelling in January can benefit from the lower Air Passenger Duty charges, which the government has increased with effect from February 2007.

Customers can also upgrade to World Traveller Plus from £150 each way on long-haul flights and Club Europe from £50 each way on short-haul flights from Gatwick, and from £75 each way from Heathrow.
