Lufthansa voted leading business class airline

Travel professionals from around the world have voted Lufthansa “Europe's Leading Business Class Airline” in the 2007 World Travel Awards. Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the "Travel industry's equivalent to the Oscars", the World Travel Awards are the most comprehensive and most prestigious awards programme in the global travel industry today.

A total of 167,000 travel professionals worldwide voted for the awards which were presented at the 2007 World Travel Awards Europe & Green ceremony in Newcastle last night.

“This award proves that Lufthansa’s investment in our new business class product on European routes has been successful in meeting the needs of the business traveller”, says Marianne Sammann, Lufthansa General Manager UK & Ireland. “The World Travel Awards are highly regarded and coveted as they are unique, with the votes cast globally by travel professionals across the globe. Winning a World Travel Award is now recognized as one of the highest accolades a travel product or organization can achieve.”

Work on installing the new business class product on Lufthansa’s European fleet was completed last Autumn. The new centre consol, which replaces the middle seat, provides greater privacy and additional workspace enabling the business traveller to make even better use of their time onboard. State-of-the-art technology and innovative materials used in the design and manufacture of the new-generation ergonomic leather seats also increase comfort. They offer more legroom and the backrest conforms perfectly to the contours of the passenger.

The World Travel Awards were conceived in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry. Now in their fourteenth year, travel professionals and discerning travellers have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the very best endorsement that a travel product could hope to receive.
