Babel Tokyo packages from £895

In the remote sands of the Moroccan desert, a rifle shot rings out – detonating a chain of events that will link an American couple’s frantic struggle to survive, two Moroccan boys involved in an accidental crime, a nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children and a Japanese teen rebel whose father is sought after by the police in Tokyo. Separated by clashing cultures and sprawling distances, each of these four disparate groups of people are nevertheless hurtling towards a shared destiny of isolation and grief.
Tokyo is the only urban setting in the film which emphasises how different this ultra modern city is to the rural village and sweltering deserts shown in Mexico and the remote village of the pastoral nomads and farmers in the rocky gorges of the Draa Valley in Morocco. The diverse images beautifully shown in the film are a reminder of just how diverse a place the world remains.
Tokyo really is as cool and exciting as it looks in Babel. Experience it for yourself on a five-day trip to Tokyo flying with ANA and staying at the 5-star Hotel New Otani Tokyo. Stop by the cafe from the film, the J-Pop Cafe in Shibuya, for a drink before setting out to explore the area, one of Tokyo's most colorful and busy districts and birthplace to many of Japan's fashion and entertainment trends. Finish up the day at Tokyo City View to get views of Tokyo even better than those shown in the film from 250 metres above sea level.
