Holiday in luxury with Sanctuary Villas & Apartments

Luxury villa specialist Sanctuary Villas and Apartments has launched in the UK for the first time. It has just released its 2007 brochure which offers luxurious properties varying from two bedroom apartments in Florence to a 100-acre historic country estate sleeping 30 near Bordeaux.

Sanctuary Villas and Apartments is unique in its concierge-style approach, which is supported by staff in regional offices in Florence and Sophia Antipolis, near Cannes.

The unique ‘Sanctuary Hosted’ service includes such thoughtful detail as daily maid service, a fully stocked drinks fridge, an initial supply of toiletries and provisions, breakfast delivered to the villa on the first morning, pool towels and a ‘Sanctuary Host’ who welcomes clients upon arrival and is on call 24/7 to advise on the region and local activities as well as assisting with any emergencies or other arrangements.

Additional optional activities range from private painting or cookery classes, to wine tasting, yacht charters and horse riding. The inclusive, but not obtrusive, Sanctuary service involves off-site local staff, who are readily available with expert advice and assistance.

For the more independent-minded client requiring less support, the ‘Tailor Made’ service provides properties on a villa-only basis but with the convenience of a local Sanctuary Host on call in case of emergency. Additional services can be arranged on request.

Other local staff may be organised according to guests’ requirements: Sanctuary cooks may be booked to help prepare gourmet meals or give cooking demonstrations of local specialities. Sanctuary Guides will share their knowledge of history, culture and people of the region to enrich guests’ experiences and to show them places that are not ordinarily accessible to the general public. Sanctuary nannies provide parents with support and peace of mind.

As a price guide, La Maison Rose, a charming village house sleeping up to seven guests is located in the heart of the delightful village of Roussillon, and benefits from a private pool and views to the Lubéron valley. Prices start from €2,707 for the Tailor Made option and €5,454 for the Sanctuary Hosted package.

La Corniche, 1km from the perfume town of Grasse, west of Nice, costs €7,307 in low season on a Tailor Made basis. The property sleeps 10 adults or eight adults plus four children. In high season – or during the Cannes Film Festival in May – the Sanctuary Hosted option costs €14,557. All prices are exclusive of flights, although Sanctuary Villas and Apartments is able to advise on travel arrangements and arrange car rental.

There are a total of 35 properties in Tuscany and Umbria in Italy, including six apartments in Florence. The new brochure also features 10 villas on the Côte d’Azur, nine in Provence, one estate in the Dordogne and a further property in Andalucia, Spain. There are plans to add more properties in Europe later in 2007.
