Libra Holidays introduces weddings in Greece

8th March 2007 Print
Libra Holidays For 2007-08, specialist tour operator, Libra Holidays, will be expanding their weddings and honeymoons programme to include Greece! With UK wedding costs rising and the drudgery of the British weather, more and more couples are keen to jet away and tie the knot in a more exotic and romantic location.

The specialist tour operator, Libra Holidays, has been offering weddings to Cyprus for five years and has now introduced weddings on six idyllic islands in Greece.

Offering plenty to keep the newlyweds and their guests happy, the Greek islands boast hidden coves, quaint harbours and inviting crystal clear waters, making them all an idyllic and dream setting for that special day!

Spectacular scenery creates the perfect backdrop for those all important wedding album shots and with Greece being easily accessible and only a short flight duration away, where better than these Grecian paradise isles to hold your overseas wedding fairytale!?

The programme will feature wedding ceremonies on the islands of Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, Skiathos, Zante and Santorini. An unusual and unique choice of venues including the Santo Winery in Santorini are also available!

Libra Holidays continues to offer the bronze, silver and gold wedding packages with basic wedding costs starting from £299 for a bronze package which includes; 24 photographs, a posy of carnations, button hole carnation and a bottle of sparkling wine. Wedding Extras are also available. For example a one tier wedding cake will cost an additional £38.

Product Manager, Darren Hitchcock, said “After specialising in weddings in Cyprus, we felt it was time to add Greece. More and more couples are looking to get married abroad and combine their wedding and honeymoon together.

“Advantages of getting married in Greece include a short flight duration, the destination is easily accessible, therefore making it convenient for family and guests to attend and not forgetting that the actual wedding costs work out far more reasonable than here in the UK! Similar to Cyprus, Greece is also up and coming in its hotels, particularly the five star hotels offering excellent spa facilities, ideal for honeymooners wanting luxury and relaxation.”

Prices start from £2133 per couple for a wedding and honeymoon in Corfu. This price is based on a bronze package and includes administration fee, legal documents and venue costs (ceremony taking place in town hall) including registrar, stamps and legalisation of the documents.

The price also includes 14 nights B/B at the five-star Konokali Bay Hotel in the resort of Kontokali based on two sharing a standard room with return flights from Gatwick to Corfu in May 2007 and transfers. Honeymooners will receive fruit, flowers, local wine and a free room upgrade.
