EasyCruise extends season in Greece

14th March 2007 Print
easyCruise EasyCruise has announced that its summer season in Greece will be extended, a new ‘Classical Greece’ itinerary and 23 extra cabins have been added in order to offer customers additional availability this summer. The announcement comes following the high demand the company has seen for its new itineraries since they first became available just four months ago.

The Greek itinerary, originally scheduled to run from 31st May, will now commence on 18th May, with a new inaugural cruise followed by a series of weekends and short breaks before easyCruiseOne commences its regular cruise itineraries which will allow you to take anything from a weekend break to a two week holiday.

It is the first time flagship, easyCruiseOne, has visited Stelios’ home country of Greece and the surrounding islands and will see it visit some of the most cosmopolitan Greek Islands, some of the most authentic and some of the least travelled but most picturesque, tranquil and historical destinations in the Aegean. Cruises start from as little as £20 per person for a two night mini break, based on two people sharing a standard cabin.

In addition, the new ‘Classical Greece’ itinerary, available in October and November, will take passengers on a tour of Ancient Greece, visiting some of the most amazing archaeological sites in the World.

It will enable passengers to experience the Acropolis by night and witness a Sounion sunset as well as see the historical sights of Mycenae, Nemea, Olympia and Delphi and immerse themselves in such legends as that of Ulysses and Apollo - all in a seven night cruise which starts from just £70 per person, based on two people sharing a standard cabin.

Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyCruise founder commented: “When we first announced our new Greek itinerary we were confident that it would appeal to our customers, but we have been overwhelmed by just how popular it has been. What we have seen in this first few months has been impressive.

“It’s our most popular itinerary yet and 30% of bookings have come from people who have travelled with easyCruise before, which goes to show how well easyCruise is meeting the customer needs. Because of this we have decided to extend easyCruiseOne’s summer season by over a month and add extra cabins, which will allow us to increase cruise capacity by nearly 40%.

“Our Greek cruises are tailored to offer customers a choice of holiday pace, and now with our additional Classical Greece itinerary there really is something for everyone, whether you want to enjoy the beauty of off-the-beaten-track islands, the lively atmosphere of some of the better known party islands or take the opportunity to see some of the most truly wonderful ancient wonders of the World.”

As well as seeing some of the best destinations the Aegean has to offer, passengers can take advantage of a range of on board facilities. These include a new Apivita spa where passengers can enjoy treatments including massages, manicures and pedicures.

Passengers also have use of the new sauna or can relax in the hot tub, enjoy a leisurely meal or drink in the new bar and restaurant, sunbathe on one of the two sundecks, work out in the fitness zone or listen to the sounds of the resident dj well into the early hours before heading back to their cabins (available in twins/doubles, quads and suites).

easyCruiseOne’s Greek itineraries are now on sale for departures from 18th May – 11th November 2007. To book, visit easyCruise.com or see your travel agent.
