Littlesea Holiday Park named best in UK

18th April 2007 Print
Littlesea Holiday Park Haven and British Holidays' Littlesea Holiday Park has been named best in the country by Britain's leading holiday review website. The Weymouth caravan park, with breathtaking views of Dorset's World Heritage coastline, was rated best holiday park by Holidaywatchdog.com.

The popular website, which attracts more than 40,000 "hits" a week, features holidaymakers' reviews of their holidays which can vary from being highly favourable to very critical.

The initiative rewards only the best UK holiday parks for excellent customer service and allows holidaymakers to easily find the best holiday parks in the UK. Littlesea scored an overall rating of 8.97 out of a maximum ten in reviewers' ratings of the park - putting it in No 1 position in the website's first awards for holiday parks.

The latest review, referring to a holiday at Littlesea just last month and giving the break a score of 8/10, starts: "Have just come back from a 4 night trip with the kids and we are still on a high after an amazing time."

Another comment by a holidaymaker who was at Littlesea in July last year reads: "This was the best holiday ever! I think my favourite thing about the holiday was the club. It was fantastic. The entertainment was great, especially the FunStars. They were ace."

Overlooking Fleet Lagoon, Littlesea has also held the coveted David Bellamy Gold Conservation Award for two years. Among its facilities are heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, multi-sports court, as well as a full programme of day and evening entertainment.

A fun mini-golf course has also been added to the park and next month holiday makers in touring caravans will benefit from new facilities featuring underfloor heating and an artificial grass roof to blend in with the environment.

Littlesea is one of 34 Haven and British Holidays parks around the UK and first runner-up in the survey was another Haven park, Wild Duck near Great Yarmouth. Second runner-up was Center Parcs Oasis, Whinefell Forest, Cumbria.

Commenting on the first holiday park awards, Chris Brown, Managing Director at Holidaywatchdog.com said: 'These awards are not given out lightly and are a valuable accolade for a holiday park to achieve. It is a great thing for the consumer as they can now know where the best holiday parks are at a click of a button and be as sure as possible of having a great holiday.

'It is especially relevant to the consumer as the awards are given based on their customers’ comments and evaluate the park’s service, cleanliness, value for money and quality of staff.'
