Walking on Bermuda
New for autumn 2007, Headwater is proud to be the first UK tour operator to offer independent walking holidays on the quintessential island paradise of Bermuda. Seemingly adrift in the North Atlantic Ocean, Bermuda is renowned for its sugary pink sands and dazzling turquoise waters in a whole rainbow of blues, but beyond the beaches there's a secret side just waiting to be discovered.A traffic-free trail spans Bermuda's diminutive 21-mile length; we've split it into six diverse sections to offer gentle walks exploring every corner. From hidden sea grottoes to crumbling 17C forts, lush flower-speckled fields to the sun-kissed sands of the South Shore Trail; the kaleidoscope of colour is unforgettable and the diversity of flora and fauna unbeatable. To help you explore it all at your own pace, we've included a 7-day pass allowing unlimited use of the islands' buses and ferries.
We've chosen a special place to stay too; the warmly welcoming Horizons and Cottages perches panoramically above Elbow Beach with breathtaking views to the ocean. With a beautiful swimming pool, tennis courts, 9-hole golf course and sumptuous meals including à la carte breakfast, afternoon tea and 5-course dinners, you might just find it hard to put on those walking boots!
Direct flights from the UK mean that this perfect piece of paradise is just 7 hours away and, with just 4 hours time difference, there is no real threat of jet lag.
Headwater's Islands of Bermuda Walk departs selected Sundays and Thursdays from October '07 to April '08.
Prices start from just £1499 per person and include return flights from Gatwick with BA, 7 nights' half-board hotel accommodation, all walking maps and route notes, local transfers, and unlimited travel on local buses/ferries.
