15th May 2007 Print
Msambweni Beach Following the success of Villa Val Des Roses, a four star boutique hotel in Cap d’Antibes, South of France, the Vanderhoeven family has created and newly opened Msambweni Beach House (Msambweni-house.com), an exclusive luxury private property in Msambweni, Kenya, 50 miles South of Mombasa and 20 miles from the border of Tanzania.

Msambweni Beach House (Msambweni meaning land of the sable antelope) is in a quiet, unique setting on a stretch of completely unspoilt sandy beach surrounded by 28 acres of natural land. The property has 700 feet of private beach along a four mile stretch of coastline with palm trees offering peace and tranquillity where guests can really be at one with nature while enjoying a luxury, yet discreet, stay with attentive service in beautiful surroundings.

Msambweni Beach House has been designed by the Vanderhoeven family in the Lamu style and built to high standards by local and national Africans using many local raw materials. It is situated on a 40-foot high cliff and is safely surrounded by a typical coral wall. The property accommodates 12 people in total, comprising: Msambweni Main House, Msambweni Luxury Tent and Msambweni Lamu Villas.

Msambweni Main House: three double air-conditioned spacious luxury bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, king-size beds and private large terraces, satellite television/DVD, a large shared living room, dining room, billiard area and large open veranda; 25 metre infinity swimming pool and sun lounging area.

Msambweni Luxury Tent: a unique stay in this exquisite tent with large luxury bedroom with king size bed, private terrace, bath, shower and toilet with use of Msambweni Main House’s 25 metre infinity swimming pool and sun lounging areas.

Msambweni Lamu Villas: two small luxury Lamu style villas with sea views. Each villa sleeps two and features a double air-conditioned spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom, private terraces and its own private 25 metre infinity pool with Jacuzzi and personal spa area as well as satellite television/DVD.

A stay at Msambweni Beach House has an emphasis on attention to detail and great service for an unforgettable stay. All accommodation types include an assistant cook, a housekeeper and a driver. A complimentary daily massage is also available to clients as well as a free mini bar.

Everything is covered in the price of a stay at Msambweni House including a sumptuous breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, appetizer with drinks while watching the sunset, gastronomic dinner, as well as all drinks (excluding champagne), snacks, private beach picnics and BBQs created in Msambweni Beach House’s special atmosphere. Belgium trained private chefs will cook whatever guests desire including freshly caught fish which guests can help catch, vegetables from the garden and homemade bread. Private car transfers to and from Mombasa airport (one hour each way) are included in the price. Special introductory opening rates are from 458 US dollars per person per day.

Msambweni Beach House is designed for individuals as well as groups where the entire or part of the property can be reserved. It is the perfect destination for a luxury private holiday, honeymoon retreat or corporate getaway. A stay there is very much based on personal service to ensure a high quality, tailor-made holiday. Individual itineraries are planned with guests and the management speaks fluent English, French and Flemish.

The Vanderhoeven family is keen to continue supporting the local community and has launched a clean water project in co-operation with the Humanitarian International Design Organisation. Guests will receive progress reports on their support and will be able to follow this when they return for another stay at Msambweni Beach House.
