Still searching for a last-minute getaway?

14th August 2007 Print
The summer of 2007 has been a real mixed bag of weather for holidaymakers, but it’s not over yet and many people are still on the hunt for a getaway. So if you’re looking to escape to ‘guaranteed’ sunshine or willing to take your chances on a last-minute hotel bargain in the UK, a new travel service on Map24 may be just the ticket.

More than 40,000 hotels in over 50 countries can quite literally be viewed and booked directly on Map24.com - Europe's leading portal for maps, route planning and local search.

Map24 displays hotel availability during address search and route planning on its digital maps. Users may browse local attractions and events before deciding on a location.

To simplify finding the most suitable hotel, Map24 offers a range of different search options. You can search by location, price, special offers and facilities available. For last-minute getaways, late availability bookings are also possible.

A mouse click on the chosen hotel displays a short description with photo and prices, as well as a direct link to the supplier. The location can be set as "start", "destination" or "via" and the search result can be sent to a friend or saved in MyMap24 address book, so that the user does not have to search for the location again another time.

Chris Wallett, UK Managing Director of Mapsolute which owns the popular Map24 portal, said: “Our aim is to make booking a break or holiday extremely simple, by providing the sort of information that people initially scan the Internet for. It’s also ideal for business travellers.

“Once they’ve selected one or more hotels, they may then click through to find out more about each hotel and its location. And if they like what they see they can book it there and then.”
