India through the Lens, £1,345 (plus INR 10,000 local payment)
Intrepid’s 15-day, ‘India through the Lens’ adventure begins in the bustling streets of old Delhi. The photographic opportunities are endless, from the icon of India, the Taj Mahal to the hidden gem of Orchha and the spirituality of Bodh Gaya. Get snap-happy as you mingle with merchants at the Sonepur Cattle Fair, enjoy a dawn boat ride at Varanasi and capture the spirit of the locals in India's friendliest city, Kolkata.
India is one of Steve Davey’s favourite destinations for capturing incredible locations and inspiring portraits:
"India through the Lens takes in some of my most favourite places in India: the incomparable majesty of the Taj Mahal, the hauntingly ancient spirituality of Varanasi, the ramshackle charm of Kolkata and Bodh Gaya - a little piece of Tibet in the middle of India.
“Most amazingly, we will visit the Sonepur Mela. Billed as the world's largest livestock fair, it is also famous for being the largest second-hand elephant market in the world and is hardly visited by westerners at all. This is a rare chance to see one of the great hidden gems of Asia and to come back with some stunning pictures."
The trip will take place from 15 - 29 November 2007 and the price is £1,345 per person (excluding international flights) plus a local payment of INR 10,000, and includes all transfers, photographic tuition, entrance fees during guided sightseeing, accommodation and most meals.
