Pooch packages from Keycamp

From spring/summer season 2008, they will be able to arrange holidays for the whole family including the dog, at 29 of its sites - from Brittany, Normandy and Picardy in the north of France to as far afield as Lake Garda.
Dave McKenna, marketing manager at Keycamp, comments: “Our customer research has shown that our customers hate going away without their pets. With the advent of the PETS passport and camping being such a dog-friendly way of holidaying, we decided it was time to put canine camping on our agenda.”
To facilitate the trip, Keycamp will use only DEFRA approved operators for the crossings and supply details of vets local to the campsite, which families must visit within 48 hours of their return. All dogs travelling with Keycamp will need to have, or be in the process of acquiring, a valid PETS passport, which can take up to eight months to secure.
Eager dog lovers have already bounded to book their 2008 holidays, with pets destined so far to be holidaying in Picardy and Brittany in France and Wassenaar in Holland.
Set in the Compiegne Forest and with lots of wide open spaces, La Croix du Vieux Pont at Berny Riviere, is pooch paradise. Just ninety minutes from Paris, it will also be a hit with the rest of the family who can enjoy facilities such as a swimming pool, spa, beauty centre and sports such as fishing and boules.
A twelve night stay in Easter 2008 at La Croix du Vieux Pont for a family of two adults and up to four children and one dog will cost from £451, including return Dover-Calais ferry crossings.
