Costa Cruises If you want to learn to sizzle on the dance floor and shake it the Latino way, Costa Cruises have the cruise for you this autumn. The Costa Concordia will become the most dazzling ship in the Mediterranean as she embraces the pure rhythms of the ‘The Tango Festival on the Sea’.

Costa Cruises has collaborated with the Cultural Association of Tango Turin and the Association of Tango Querido, to present the first Tango Festival on the Sea. This very special cruise swings into action on 25 November 2007 onboard the magnificent Costa Concordia. This cruise promises to be a fantastic event for anyone with a passion for Tango!

The ship will depart from Civitavecchia for a grand seven-night cruise of the Mediterranean. Three internationally renowned dance partnerships will be onboard to thrill guests with their sizzling routines and to guide them in the art of tango. The dance instructors are Sabastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Esteban Moreno and Claudia Codega & Marcela Guevara and Stefano Giudice. Each partnership will train guests and hone their tango skills, with live musical accompaniment from the Ensemble Hyperion orchestra.

During the day the instructors will organise free dance classes for three different levels of experience, which guests will be able to enrol in before departure by filling in a ‘Tango booking form’ at their travel agency. In the evening the dance instructors will turn their attentions to entertaining the guests, with wonderful shows performed across some of the most glamorous public spaces onboard.

Guests will enjoy thrilling dance shows in the sophisticated Grand Bar, the colourful London bar and under the stars at the beautiful outside swimming pool. The cruise concludes with an evening in the magnificent three deck high Athens Theatre, where guests will have the opportunity to show off what they have learned on stage.

The Costa Concordia is a dazzling ship, launched in July 2006 with many world class amenities, including the Samsara Spa - one of the largest floating spas in the world, a Grand Prix simulator, two swimming pools with retractable glass roofs, five restaurants and 13 bars. The Costa Concordia will be sailing from vibrant Barcelona to the stunning beaches of Palma De Mallorca, the famous Medina of Tunis, the picturesque island of Malta, the cultured island of Sicily, Rome’s nearest port Civitavecchia and historic Savona, before returning to Barcelona.

Guests can choose from a wide range of shore excursions to some of Europe’s historic and beautiful sights, or stay onboard and take full advantage of the ship’s excellent facilities and practice their dance moves! Prices start at £399 per person, cruise-only for seven nights, including all meals and port taxes.
