Cruise control Sailing round the Med in the summer or swapping a dismally wet British winter for some wonderfully wet scuba diving in the Red Sea might seem like an impossible dream for everyone whose bank balance is not in the millionaire class.

But for members of the Club La Costa Yacht Club the luxury of a €1 million catamaran, complete with professional crew waiting to welcome you aboard and cater for your every desire, is now firmly on the horizon.

Unlike most companies who only offer yacht charters for upwards of £15,000, with the unique Club La Costa Yacht Club members can charter a double cabin on board a luxury 60ft, four cabin catamaran for just £1990 (£995 per person) for a week’s all-inclusive sailing holiday in the Red Sea. This special introductory offer is half the cost of any other comparable yachting holiday and for those who then take out fractional ownership in the Yacht Club, the cost of these superb sailing experiences falls even further - for example, a £12,000 investment gives the owners exclusive use of a double cabin for 12 weeks over 12 years, which works out at just £500 per person per week!

The first wave of Yacht Club owners took to the water this summer, when Club La Costa launched their first two luxurious catamarans in Majorca, and the luxury yachts are now preparing to drop anchor in the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea, where an exciting winter programme of holidays is now being offered.

Custom-fitted by top French cruising yacht builders Fountaine-Pajot, the Eleuthera 60 catamarans are perfect for seasoned sailors and for holidaymakers with limited experience and everyone aboard is guaranteed five star luxury.

Catering for those wishing to experience the ultimate holiday lifestyle of the yachting elite – minus the expense and management that comes with owning your own yacht – the unique style of holiday offered by Club La Costa Yacht Club means guests can relax onboard, soak up the sun and enjoy the high life while the crew takes care of everything else, from serving breakfast to mixing mojitos at sunset, or from arranging excursions to scuba diving lessons along with a variety of other water sports.

On board, saloons and cabins are air-conditioned and finished with wood panelled walls and parquet-style flooring and all four cabins have en-suite facilities including freshwater showers. The interior has a 6ft 3in headroom and more in some areas, while the extended coach roof which protects the saloon from the heat and glare of the sun allows an extremely comfortable environment to relax and share your experiences of the day with friends and family, from the moment you wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, to an after-dinner nightcap under the stars before bed.

“The extensive range of facilities and leisure options, the Club La Costa Yacht Club offers, both on and off shore, have been designed to make each sailing holiday truly memorable” say Roy Peires, chairman of Club La Costa.

“From a fully equipped galley with well stocked bar, members will have their sailing holiday tailored to suit their specific requirements. We have equipment on board for fishing and scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking, dinghy sailing and windsurfing and, of course, wining and dining, exploring and shopping onshore are included in the itinerary.”

The exciting Red Sea sailing adventure is packed with sights guaranteed to thrill even the most jaded traveller and embraces three countries - Israel, Egypt and Jordan. Joining the yacht in Eilat, the catamarans sail through the most northern tropical sea, with an abundance of marine life to keep the guests company in the two day sail to Egypt’s Sinai National Park and Coral Island.

One night is spent at Taba Heights Marinam a sophisticated and elegant self-contained resort, then it’s off to Aqaba, the sparkling jewel of the Jordanian coast, where snorkellers and divers can explore the coral gardens with huge Georgian sea fans while landlubbers can soak up the sun on South Beach.

If the view on board across the Gulf of Aqaba to the Sinai Mountaines isn’t too breathtaking, guests can step ashore and explore the city’s wealth of restaurants and shops.

There’s time for more swimming, sunbathing and exploring around the Taba border, then it’s back to Eilat for a last night in the marina to reflect on the magic of a memorable week’s sailing.

Roy Peires adds, “We are confident that our fleet of luxurious catamarans and our sailing routes - which offer cruises around some of the most beautiful yachting destinations in Europe and beyond - will appeal to those looking for that wow factor from their annual vacation. The response to our first season’s sailing in Majorca has been fantastic and I am sure the winter programme in the Red Sea will prove to be even more popular.”

For those wishing to enjoy a taste of the same luxurious lifestyle as Roman Abramovich or Richard Branson, this exclusive week long Red Sea Sailing Holiday is available for the special price of just £995 per person, based on two people sharing, and is inclusive of all food and drink aboard, plus free use of watersports equipment.

If you would like to sail off into the sunset on a regular basis, fractional ownership in the Club La Costa Yacht Club is available from £8,000 and is extremely flexible - members can have their own exclusive chartered yacht and use four of their weeks to reserve all four guest cabins on board the luxury catamaran, use eight weeks and have a private two yacht flotilla at their command, or any other permutation that suits.

Water sports available aboard include; fishing, guided scuba diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking and windsurfing.
