Life coaching in the sunshine

Superficially, things may look great. You have a good job, fairly well paid, a nice car, a house in Chelsea and a family to return to in the evening. But something important may well be missing. The job may be well-paid but it's also very stressful, the nice car may be parked outside your home but it's never used because you don't have the time to go places, the house may be yours but you have to work too hard to pay its mortgage, and the family may be there but only for petty arguments.
The result, according to press reports: a surge of referrals to psychiatrists as more employees seek advice on coping with stress, anxiety and depression. The numbers of those seeking urgent help, it is said, is expected to rise still further as the credit crunch takes its toll.
So, what do you really need to be happy? More of the same? More money, better cars, bigger houses? Or something else, which in the post-material society we have entered money cannot buy? Just think about it!
What would really make you happy? Perhaps a meaningful job that is socially validated? A sense of purpose in life denied to you by an insipid profession? A network of good friends who are there when you need them? More time to pursue those interests of yours nobody knows about? More self-confidence to embark upon the life journey you always dreamt about? More respect for who you are as opposed to what you are? A better relationship with those you love? A life in tune with your nature, your community and the natural world?

Among so many others who've come to us is comedian Jimmy Carr. As he told The Sunday Times recently, 'I wasn't quite sure what to do with my life' but in Skyros 'people kept saying that I was really funny, and ought to be a comedian. So, I thought I'd give it a go'. He did and transformed himself from a marketing executive with Shell into the celebrity we know from our TV screens. Skyros was truly for him, as he acknowledged, 'a life-changing holiday'.
Skyros has ran Life Coaching sessions for thirty years and has built an enviable reputation on account of its facilitators' warmth, integrity and also effectiveness in action.
This year, the Life Coaching sessions begin 31 May and end 27 September. All but the last session are two-weekly holidays.
