Experience one of the world's greatest road journeys Experience one of the world’s greatest, yet least travelled Australian road journeys, by joining adventure operator, Nullarbor Traveller on a ten-day, 3,800 kms, Adelaide to Perth trip, which can be experienced in either direction.

South Australian highlights include the dramatic Southern Flinders Ranges; the pristine Eyre Peninsula; the vast treeless Nullarbor plain and the exquisite beaches of the Esperance area.

The Adelaide to Perth route follows the south west coast of Western Australia and from April an extra day has been added to include the Margaret River area, well known for its award winning wineries, and will include the chance to visit a winery and sample the many superb wines of the region. If done in reverse the tour remains nine-days in length as a different route is taken in central Western Australia which includes Wave Rock.

Travellers will discover the varied wildlife of both Western Australia and South Australia and enjoy activities such swimming with sea lions and dolphins; nocturnal wildlife spotting to see emus, wombats and kangaroos; whale watching to see the southern right whales on their journey south (June to Oct); coastal cliff walks; surfing at South Australia’s most famous surf beach, Cactus Beach; caving; tree top canopy walks; camel trekking, swimming with tuna and hiking in the Stirling Ranges. There is an also optional activity – cage shark diving.

Each tour is escorted by an experienced guide who provides commentary on a variety of topics including the early pioneers, Aboriginal history, natural history and conservation.

There is also the chance to meet and have dinner with the company’s owner, Craig ‘Hassie’ Haslam and his wife Jo who live on the Eyre Peninsula at Coodlie Park Farm Retreat. (Coodliepark.com.au)

This 10-day Adelaide to Perth trip is priced A$1,450 (approx £635) and includes transport, camping equipment, entrance fees, activities as per itinerary and all meals. Accommodation is a mixture of farm retreats and Aussie country pubs as well as camping in national parks, on camp grounds and in bush camps.

Other tour options include a six-day “Secrets of the Eyre Peninsula” tour which departs from Adelaide as costs A$840 (approx £370).
