Let's talk about sex . . .

Alison Goldie, a performer with vast experience in stand-up comedy and radio/TV presenting, loves to deal with the preliminaries, ie the flirting process. Ice-breakers including games, exercises and role-playing will bring you in touch with you inner Casanova or submerged Mae West, encourage you to come out of your shell, suspend self-censorship, sell your assets and relate to others with ease and cheerfulness.
“We’ll look”, says Alison, “into eye-contact, body language, opening gambits and we’ll discuss how men and women differ in approach and response, All this will help people to have more fun and less fear in their communications with others. It will also give the course participants a really great time.” (The Grange, 20 - 24 March and Skyros island, Greece, 28 June - 10 July)
Steve King, a psychotherapist of more than twenty years’ standing, will encourage people to talk about sex with their lovers, partners, spouses and friends. “It’s a wonderful kind of sharing”, he says, “that enriches our lives. If we can’t talk about sex, voice our hopes, desires, fears and fantasies, our sexual lives are impoverished. In his course participants will talk, celebrate, sing and paint their sexuality. At the end of the week, speaking of sex will be as natural as discussing the weather.” Steve is also a musician and a writer, author of numerous published poems and creator of a musical, The Kid. (Skyros island, 14 - 27 June)
Martin & Hanna Jelfs see sexual energy as a powerful life energy that can connect us more deeply to our core - to our body, to others, to our heart and to our spirit. Their workshops will use movement, meditation, sound and visualisation to connect with this energy and partner exercises to connect to others. With the dance of energy and awareness we can then expand our sense of wellbeing and reach higher states of consciousness and bliss.
Hanna and Martin are a committed couple who met on a tantra workshop nearly ten years ago. Martin has been a psychotherapist for 25 years and Hanna has been practicing mediation and Tai Chi for over 20 years. (Skyros island, 23 August - 5 September)
Mitzi Szereto is an internationally known erotic-fiction author, anthology editor, and erotic writing workshop pioneer, who will pull back the duvet on the field of erotic writing. She says; “Writers all too often have a self-censor when it comes to describing anything to do with sex. This is evident from the Guardian’s ‘Bad Sex in Fiction Award’. If a writer can create fine literary prose in other areas of their work, they should be able to do likewise with the erotic. It’s all a matter of breaking down boundaries, of freeing oneself to write from both within and without.
“There is no stigma to writing the sexual. There is, however, a stigma to writing it poorly.” Mitzi’s erotic writing workshops are geared to help both the writer looking to explore new boundaries or improve upon previous ones, and those looking to express themselves inwords either for themselves or for a partner. (The Grange, 19 - 21 September)
