Explore the crucible of western art

The Crucible of Western Art is a fifteen-day tour of the Cyclades that explores the development of art and architecture from 3000 BC to Classical period in the fifth century BC. The Cyclades were centre stage at this time and this particular tour provides an opportunity to see some of the earliest examples of Cycladic art, Greek monumental sculpture and some superb frescoes from Akrotiri on Santorini – to name but a few.

Accompanied by Richard Stoneman, honorary fellow of Exeter University and an expert in Greek literature this tour has been designed for interested amateurs and includes plenty of time for swimming and relaxation, with stops at some of the prettiest and least populated islands including the Fournoi islands, Delos, Samos, Naxos and Paros.
