Wake and shake with Haven

Haven Holidays newest family fitness activity has bounced into action at their 35 holiday parks around the UK. Activities on offer in the early morning ‘Wake and Shake’ sessions include bouncing on mini trampolines and space hoppers, skipping, catching games and lively warm-up exercises all set to music, and kids love it.

At Blue Dolphin, on the North Yorkshire coast, early season guests filled the entertainment venue to start the day the ‘Wake and Shake’ way. “We were overwhelmed by the number of kids who wanted to take part,” said Ross Eldergill, Entertainments Manager at the park, “and they dragged their Mums and Dads along too! The programme is designed for families to join in and have fun getting fit together – and so far the response has been fantastic with more than double the expected numbers taking part!”

‘Wake and Shake’ is part of the new Kid’s Alive programme, which encourages children to have fun, get fit and to eat healthier diets. Passport stamps are awarded for each sport they do and for choosing healthy options at the café and restaurant menus.

Other ‘Kid’s Alive’ sessions include Mini-Tennis, Stunt Kites, Frisbee Fun and Diablo. Haven Holidays also offer a range of SportsZone Activities including football coaching, family tennis, fencing, archery golf, roller disco and climbing - although programmes vary from park to park so check the website or the brochure for details.

All Haven parks have heated indoor swimming pools with a full programme of Water Fun for all the family to enjoy. “Our holidays are all about families having fun together,” say Haven, “and the ‘Wake and Shake’ programme is a great way for kids to kick start the day – and get Mums and Dads up and moving too!”
