Brand new departures from Imaginative Traveller

20th March 2008 Print
Imaginative Traveller has added a range of exciting new escorted Europe tours for 2008 – all with first departures in May or June. Be among the first, for example, to enjoy a new Naples & the Amalfi Coast trip, departing in June, with highlights including free time in Naples before moving onto Pompeii and Sorrento – with an opportunity to visit the crater at Mount Vesuvius.

Then the tour heads south along the coast to explore the region’s picturesque seaside towns, takes a boat to Capri and spends two days exploring the rugged wilderness of the Cilento National Park – with its limestone hills, forests and medieval villages.

The land-only cost is £610 or £779 including flights from Gatwick on 14 June, for example. There is also a local payment of €200. Included in both costs are nine nights with breakfast (hotels plus farmhouse accommodation in Cilento) and private and local transport.

Other new, early season departures include a 10-day Discover Romania escorted tour – visiting Bucharest, the beautiful mountain resort of Sinaia and the perfectly preserved medieval town of Sighisoara.

Other highlights are the university town of Cluj Napoca – once the capital of Transylvania and with fabulous Baroque architecture – and the monasteries and painted churches of Suceava before embarking on a day cruise on the Danube Delta.

First departure is 4 May which costs £760 land-only, plus €165 local payment, or £999 including return flights from Heathrow. Included are nine nights with breakfast (all hotels, apart from one on a sleeper train).

Other new Europe trips include a 25-night Budapest to Moscow journey with a first departure on 13 May and a 21-night Istanbul to Krakow tour – departing 28 June – taking in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Turkey and Poland.
