Sales are booming at Butlins

Sales are booming at Butlins Advance bookings for summer breaks at Butlins’ three UK resorts have hit a new high. Reservations for the school holiday period are running at more than 15 per cent ahead of the same time last year, despite the gloomy economic outlook and the rotten Spring weather.

More than 100,000 guests will enjoy a holiday at one of the Butlins resorts, Minehead, Bognor Regis and Skegness, during the six week school summer holidays.

Said Butlins MD Richard Bates: “The bookings’ rush has been triggered partly by the strong Euro which is making continental breaks much more expensive – and it probably doesn’t hurt that Butlins hasn’t lost anyone’s luggage since opening in 1936.

“Many guests say they’re banking on a nice hot British Summer following the chilly Spring.”

Research by Butlins indicates that Brits will take more than 52 million short breaks in the UK this year, worth more than two billion pounds.

Prices start from just *£60pp per break for a minimum of four people sharing a Silver self-catering apartment on a three night break during the school summer holidays including accommodation, all live entertainment and 50 free activities.

Butlins is so confident of the future for UK short breaks that it has recently unveiled plans to build a spa hotel at Bognor Regis with £20million investment. The hotel will have an ultra-modern exterior and 200 rooms decorated in contemporary style, plus a state of the art hotel spa.

* Prices based on 18th – 21st July at Bognor Regis.
