Rory the tiger becomes a super hero

Rory the tiger becomes a super hero Popular children’s character Rory the Tiger, much loved by kids of all ages on Haven Holidays’ 35 family holiday parks around the UK, has taken on a new role as part of the Zoo Troop – a team of eco-super-heroes who help animals across the world.

It’s all part of a scheme to help raise eco-awareness and put care for wildlife and the environment on the agenda with young holidaymakers.

Rory the Tiger, Bradley Bear and friends will be on stage with their new Zoo Troop stage-show, entertaining children as they rescue animals and take them back to safety at ‘Sunshine Zoo’. And, in his new role as a TV mogul, Bradley Bear will be broadcasting footage of the rescues to animals in zoos across the world. Kids love it!

More than just a stage-show, the characters star in Haven’s first ever animated cartoon which features the Zoo Troop and their eco-message.

Producer Simon Daniels says, “We wanted to encourage kids to think about wildlife and the environment. The cartoons are a way of conveying messages about looking after the world and also about looking after themselves – the characters promote the idea of eating well and keeping fit, giving positive messages to young viewers.”

A line of Zoo Troop merchandise has also been developed which will be directly supporting the Zoological Society of London.

“It’s important to us that the Zoo Troop actually do fund animal conservation,” continued Simon. “The link with ZSL reinforces our commitment to the support wildlife and will help children to recognise that this is not just a cartoon – it’s a very real issue.”

ZSL say, “We are very excited by our association with Haven Holidays and their fun and exciting new Zoo Troop range. As an animal conservation charity we rely on external support to help fund the important work that we do and hope this is the start of a long and successful partnership.”

The Zoo Troop Rescue Show can be seen at selected Haven parks as part of an entertainment package that includes nightly character shows for children, summer-time pantos, music, dancing, talent contests and cabaret.

Book a break with Haven from as little as £99 for a family of four in ‘superior’ self-catering accommodation – this special deal is available on selected parks for four nights from April 28th. Visit haven.com for immediate bookings and more information.

The merchandise and DVD’s are available on the parks or on-line via zootroop.co.uk. A percentage of the selling price directly supports ZSL.
