Travel outside the Eurozone and save money

Travelling to Western Europe will be at its most expensive this summer as the value of the Euro has increased by over 17% compared to last year. Experts have therefore suggested it may be worth looking beyond the usual haunts of France, Italy and Spain and outside the Eurozone if you want your holiday money to go further.

For example, according to the Post Office dinner for two in Italy this summer will set travellers back by £42.05, compared to a more reasonable £30 in Turkey.

Here, Holiday-Rentals.co.uk, the UK’s largest holiday rentals website, suggests some alternative summer holiday destinations where travellers can get more for their money. In Europe, there are affordable apartments in Turkey and Croatia from just £42pp/wk, or slightly further a field, traditional Riads in Morocco for as little as £56pp/wk. Alternatively, stay closer to home to save on flights and travel and enjoy a spot of surfing on the fabulous Cornish coastline for just £72pp/wk!
