Experience the Prince Llwewllyn route

7th May 2008 Print
Wales offers miles of open moorland, rolling farmland, woodland and forest, quiet narrow lanes edged by fragrant flowering hedgerows and skies home to buzzards and red kites. From the Welsh borders to the Irish Sea, ride through the magnificent Cambrian Mountains and along stretches of the famous Glyndwr's Way utilising the B.H.S. (British Horse Society) Prince Llwewllyn route, during Equine Adventure’s NEW Across Wales Ride, the first in a new programme of ‘bring-your-own-horse’ riding holidays.

The 7-day guided or non-guided trail ride offers the ultimate Welsh riding experience - with the advantage of luggage transfers and comfortable accommodation en route, departs every Sunday from Felindre, May to October 2008.

The ride starts on the English border, using forgotten bridleways, open moorland crossings and trails over private land, through the beautiful landscape of Mid Wales, finishing on the beach just north of Aberystwyth. From Brandy House near the village of Felindre explore miles of bridleways and open moorland – just waiting to be explored. Few of the paths are way-marked so unescorted guests head off with clearly marked OS maps and detailed route notes – escorted riders can rely on the experience and expertise of their guide.

Follow forest tracks, cross open moorland, and enjoy exhilarating canters along the beach, spending nights in delightful B&Bs en route. Finally, riders and horses are transferred from Ynyslas back to Brandy House by road in time for a farewell dinner prior to departure next day. Riders must have good stamina and be comfortable during long days in the saddle.

The holiday costs from £870 p/p (based on 2 people with own horses/non-guided) including B&B accommodation, 2 evening meals at Brandy House, tea and coffee, stabling or penning for horses, parking for vehicle(s) at the start-point of ride, marked up Ordnance Survey maps, detailed route notes for each day, a list of local farriers and vets, luggage transfers, transport back to Brandy House Farm for horse and rider.
