Explore the Lazio region with Authentic Italy The stunning and diverse region of Lazio is situated in central Italy, on the western coast. It is best known for the capital city of Rome, which is one of its most popular tourist attractions. However, there is much more to visit in this beautiful area than the famous Coliseum and the Vatican.

Whether you want to explore Italy’s fascinating past in its numerous archaeological sites, or want to stretch your legs and admire the region’s hilly landscapes, this area has something for everyone.

The town of Tivoli is home to two picturesque UNESCO world heritage sites, thermal springs, medieval architecture, the ruins of Hadrian’s Villa and the Renaissance residence of Villa d’Este.

Viterbo town also has an interesting historical past as the official home of the Popes of the Catholic Church in the 13th century. Lazio’s coastline is also well worth a visit, and during June & July experiences average temperatures of 28 degrees. It has many beaches, sand dunes and reefs, with Ostia being one of the most popular sunbathing spots in the summer months.

Authentic Italy has a variety of villas and apartments across the Lazio region. Property 4204 is a large villa in Anzio which accommodates up to 10 people. Located in a quiet residential area, the villa is a short walk to a stretch of golden sandy beach, and a 10 minute walk to Lavinio, with its wide range of shops, bars and restaurants. For those that want to be closer to the excitement and sights, property 4207 is a large sea view apartment and only a 45 minute drive into the centre of Rome. It also boasts a large private garden with pool, patio and brick barbeque, and is a short stroll to the beach.
