Ride through myth and legend

Gallop deep into Romania’s land of myth and legend, where Wolves, Bears and Lynx still roam, and enjoy the best trail-riding in Europe, through mountains and forests, folklore and tradition, generous hospitality and mystery. Equine Adventures offers two magnificent trail-riding holidays, one under canvas, the other utilising small local guesthouses, departing Cluj-Napoca June and July 2008.

Ride Transylvania - 10 days

This camping trail through Transylvania's beautiful Calimani mountains offers fabulous riding in a region where horses still outnumber vehicles. Step back in time and witness a land rich in history, culture and some of the best fauna and flora in Europe. Follow Roman roads and medieval trails, pass ruined fortresses and relics of the Hapsburg era, ride across open fields, and indulge in the magnificent local hospitality! The holiday culminates with a visit to the famous Lippizzaner Stud Farm at Sambata.

The holiday costs £975 p/p including return transfers, lodge and camp accommodation, most meals and all riding.

The Bram Stoker Trail - 8 days
Next departs Cluj-Napoca 29th June and 6th July 08
This delightful holiday includes 5 full days riding along with a visit to one of Transylvania's most precious gems, Sighisoara, a small fortified Saxon town. Experience the raw beauty of the Transylvanian landscape, visit remote Borgo Pass, famous for Bram Stoker's ‘Dracula’, and visit the unique volcanic rock formations of ‘The 12 Apostles’ at Dorna basin. Stay in comfortable local guesthouses en route including a night in the shadow of Dracula's infamous castle.

The holiday costs £940 p/p including return transfers, guesthouse accommodation, most meals and all riding.
