Tidal Waters, a stunning, contemporary waterside house sleeping 15 guests sits at the end of the tidal inlet in the popular south Devon sailing centre of Noss Mayo. The ultra-stylish house is cleverly planned with river-facing balconies to admire the superb watery views; there’s also a small creek side garden and direct access to the foreshore with its dinghy/canoe launching area.
Inside the accommodation is spread over three levels with two light and spacious living/kitchen/dining rooms with oak floors and underfloor heating; seven/eight bedrooms and six bathrooms. Dating back to 1850, the original cottage has been extended and smartened and is now a spacious home for twelve with a heated outdoor pool and hot tub; there’s also a sauna, steam room, games room and further bedroom with facilities in the impressive pool-side summer house. The house is priced from £902pw or £75pppw for 12 sharing (ref S37, supplement page 14).
The elegant, three-storey terraced Pink House in Falmouth is just a short walk from the town centre cafés, shops and galleries. Sleeping four, it has lovely river/harbour views across the water to Flushing from the front and a sun trap patio at the back. It costs from £390pw or £98pppw based on four sharing (ref S212, supplement page 21).
On the quayside at Flushing with views across the estuary to Falmouth is aptly named Waterside House. Guests can just sit by their window and watch the small boats float gently passed while private steps in front lead down to the water. Sleeping six it’s priced from £440pw or £73pppw for six sharing (ref S202, supplement page 17).
In sunny St Mawes just 10 minutes’ walk from the shops and cafés is Oyster Haven, a lovely detached waterside house sleeping ten guests. Beautiful tropical-style terraced gardens lead around the house giving access to a footpath, which winds along the water’s edge.
Inside the living/dining room has triple aspect views over the gardens to the river while the master bedroom on the first floor has a private balcony with a similar watery outlook. Oyster Haven is priced from £1,088pw or £108pppw for ten sharing (ref S221, supplement page 26).
Also in St Mawes and right beside the water is Mariners, a delightful fisherman’s cottage for four from £440 or £110pppw for four sharing (ref S229, supplement page 31), while just two minutes’ walk from the waterfront is Peel House, a bright and spacious detached house sleeping six with an enclosed patio garden priced from £450pw or £75pppw for six sharing (ref S230, supplement page 31).
