Booking boom for Bermuda bargains

Booking boom for Bermuda bargains If you want an exotic summer break but need to keep an eye on your budget book a break to Bermuda, says John Dixon, Chairman and Managing Director of independent tour operator, Prestige Holidays. Judging by the operator’s latest booking figures consumers have been quick to pick up on this as Prestige has seen over a 75% year on year increase for the peak booking period of July and August.

Dixon, comments: “Canny travellers are aware that their pound will go a lot further in a destination that is pegged to the US dollar rather than the Euro. Competitive rates from hoteliers and cheaper fares from British Airways and Zoom mean that 95% of our holidays to the island are cheaper this year than last.

“Combine this with the falling dollar and the excellent selection of special offers available for this summer and Bermuda is a very attractive destination for those seeking an exotic but competitively priced break.”

For those who have yet to book their summer getaway, Prestige Holidays still has availability to Bermuda and, with a week’s stay in July from £1222 per person, it’s a luxury holiday that need not break the bank.

The holiday, based on a 10 July departure, includes: return economy flights with Zoom from London Gatwick, room only accommodation (including two free nights) at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess and private VIP taxi transfers.

Prestige Holidays is also offering regional connecting flights to London Gatwick from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, Manchester and Newquay from £100 return per person including taxes, subject to availability.

For travellers wishing to take further advantage of the weak dollar Prestige Holidays offers “shop and drop” breaks combining a Bermuda break with a short stay in New York or Boston.

John Dixon is confident that Bermuda business will remain buoyant and with this in mind is off to the island next month to find additional properties for the coming winter.
