Stena Line offers bargain breaks to Ireland this summer

30th June 2008 Print
Leading ferry company Stena Line has launched a sizzling summer sale offering customers the chance to grab a bargain and set sail to Ireland from only £90* single for a car and two adults with all children going free - saving up to £82 return for travel from 5th July – 31st August.

The fantastic fares are available for travel from Stranraer to Belfast, Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire or Dublin Port and Fishguard to Rosslare when booked before 28th July. Customers can pack for all occasions without the worry of putting too much into their suitcase, the only restriction is fitting everything into the car!

Paul Grant, Stena Line’s head of marketing for the Irish Sea, said the sale offered some great savings for customers.

“We know that a lot of people are leaving their holiday plans until the last minute this year due to the rising cost of food, fuel, electricity and so on. We hope that these great deals will encourage them to get away this summer and enjoy a well-earned break. We believe our fares are very competitive and the fact that kids go free is an added bonus.”

Stena Line prides itself on being a family-friendly company so as well as its summer sale offers, enabling kids to go free, it also has plenty for kids to do once they get onboard.

This summer, for example, will see the return of Curious George across Stena Line’s Irish Sea routes. The Curious George character will appear in full costume, every day during the summer period. Kids travelling onboard will also receive Curious George goodies, including badges, windmills and lots of other branded treats.

Little monkeys will feel right at home onboard as Stena Line’s children’s areas have been recently remodelled on a Curious George theme and offer lots of fun games and activities to keep them amused on the short journey to Ireland.

Lawrence Bate from Tourism Ireland said, “Why not enjoy some family fun in Ireland this summer, whether it’s exploring the stunning landscape including the Giant’s Causeway and the Burren or the amazing archaeological sites such as New Grange.”

“Alternatively you could be Irish for the day at the Causey Farm and learn how to bake Irish soda bread near Kells, Co Meath or take a boat trip on the underground rivers in Marble Arch Caves, Co Fermanagh.

Virtually every village has its summer festival, with lots of activities for families. Above all, Ireland is renowned for its hospitality and friendliness; wherever you go, you and your family will be made to feel welcome,” Lawrence concluded.
