Festive family fun in the sun Bring the family together and enjoy a festive summer holiday in the Sahara. The summer festive season begins in July with the Festival of Ulysses in Djerba. This annual festival is perfect for the whole family. In Tabarka, July sees a celebration of song with the annual music festival. The city hosts numerous events throughout the month including the world renowned Tabarka Jazz Festival, the folk and world music festivals and the increasingly popular RAI music festival.

From music to history, the International Festival of Bizerte celebrates music and food in addition to a programme of demonstrations educating visitors about the rich heritage of this enchanting city.

The magnificent Coliseum of El Jem is home to classical musicians from around the world in July when they gather to perform in this magical venue. Dougga’s Roman Amphitheatre has been hosting musical events for two thousand years and the next will be the Dougga International Festival - a wonderful collection of classical music and theatre.

Celebrating its 44th anniversary this year, Carthage International and its sister festivals Hammamet International Festival offer the opportunity for guests to embrace music, theatre and dance provided by local artists in addition to international performers.

The final festival of the summer, the Mermaid Festival in Kerkennah is a favourite with local and guest brides-to be celebrating a series of events associated with the traditional wedding service.
