Chic city breaks in Palma

This autumn, visitors to the city can combine their stay with a wealth of activities, exhibitions and concerts.
With a thriving arts scene, Mallorca is home to over 30 independent art galleries. On 18 September, the annual Nit de Art takes place in Palma and is a great opportunity for tourists to experience the galleries, cultural centres and museums which will stay open until late in the evening.
The fifth Jazz Voyeur Festival hosts an international line-up featuring performances from Cuban jazz masters, Beboy and Chucho Valdes on 25 October; American soprano, Barbara Hendricks on 31 October and the world-renowned Mississippi Mass Gospel choir on 12 December. The concerts will be staged in both the Palma Auditorium and Bellver Castle.
For dance fans there is the International Ballet season that runs through to November and features classic works staged in Palma’s Auditorium including Anna Karina presented by the Elfman Ballet Theatre of St Petersburg from 24 October and the Antonia Marques Company from 22 November.
In 2009, Jam Art Mallorca takes place from 26 – 29 March. An annual festival, it invites galleries, artist, collectors, publishers and visitors to particitate in a fair of emerging artists and projects in order to exchange their visions of the future. Jam Art Mallorca aims to create awareness about the future of the planet and to supply positive answers to major global issues via the means of visual arts.
