David Cameron holidays in North Cornwall

At the heart of this secret corner of Cornwall is St Merryn, a rural village 3 miles from Padstow. St Merryn is a great base centred in the middle of seven glorious bays each with its own unique character. Porthcothan Bay (nearest Newquay) up the coast to Treyarnon, then Constantine Bay, Booby's Bay, Mother Iveys Bay, Harlyn, and then Trevone Bay (nearest to Padstow).
The Leader of the Opposition might well choose to play a few holes at the Trevose Golf and Country Club at Harlyn – hosts of the recent English Amateur Stroke Play Championships, or take a lesson or two at Harlyn Surf School. He could even go for the ultimate adrenaline rush at the St Merryn Parachute Centre!
As well as the stunning views of the rural and coastal walks, other family-orientated treats include the sunsets of theTrevose Head peninsular, with it's lighthouse, lifeboat station, and the blow hole at Trevone. The Camel Trail starts in Padstow and can be walked or cycled all the way to Bodmin.
This year St Merryn is holding it's annual Carnival on the 16th of August.
Getting to North Cornwall is now even easier with Newquay airport flying to most UK destinations and local specialists, Cornish Horizons has a wide choice of self catering accomodation in the St Merryn and the Seven Bays area.
