Travel City Direct continues to fly the Welsh dragon

Travel City Direct, the Florida specialist, has announced that it will now be the only airline to fly direct from Cardiff International Airport to Orlando, Sanford Airport Florida in 2009, ensuring that nearly 20,000 Welsh holidaymakers will continue to have easy access to the world’s best theme parks and beach resorts.

Travel City Direct will be putting a smile on the face of many parents throughout Wales in 2009 with the announcement that it is to continue operating its Cardiff to Sanford route. The tour operator will run seven direct flights next year from May to October with three of the flights operating in the August peak season. Holiday makers can fly from Cardiff during the school holidays from as little as £569 per person for a family of four staying at the Ramada Plaza Gateway for 14 nights. Price includes flights departing on 19th October 2009 and car hire.

Florida Product Manager for Travel City Direct, Gareth Evison, said: “Travel City Direct employs over 100 staff from Wales at our main call centre in Swansea. Therefore it is not only important to us that we continue to serve the local people, but also to keep supporting Cardiff Airport – especially to popular destinations like Florida.”

Adding to the excitement is the news that the Cardiff to Sanford route will be operated by Travel City Direct’s brand new AIRBUS A330 wide bodied jet aircraft. The new planes will offer 33” seat pitch in economy, leather seats and state of the art touch screen Panasonic seat back TVs. In its upgrade cabin in XL One there will be a 12.1” widescreen TV and in Economy a class leading 9” widescreen TV. Every passenger will continue to receive free meals and headsets with XL One passengers also benefiting from dedicated check-in, priority boarding, 38” seat pitch, generous 40kg luggage allowance, free drinks and upgraded meals – all from just £349 per person extra.
