Encouraging kids to get active on holiday

From activities that kids might be trying for the first time like children’s yoga through to activities that will allow families the opportunity to have fun exercising together, like family Olympics and Gladiator Challenges, it is hoped that the skills and lifestyle habits the families trial on holiday will be picked up and taken home.
Alan Pugh, head of product for TUI UK said: “As more and more government reports focus on childhood obesity and inactivity among children, First Choice realises the importance of engaging children in physical activity. While other operators are stripping offerings from their overseas products, we are continuing to invest in our resorts and Kids Academies. We believe this is hugely important, as it allows First Choice to provide customers with the best possible family orientated service.”
First Choice Holiday Villages are already committed to promoting sporting and educational activities so that children come away from their holidays with new found confidence and skills. For example as well as activities in our Kids Academies, the Holiday Villages run Soccer Academies where boys and girls of all abilities are able to hone their skills with FA or UEFA qualified coaches. First Choice has also joined forces with In2action to provide a great range of ground, pool and air based activities for the whole family on holiday. Sessions vary from high ropes and abseiling to raft building to mountain biking and circus workshops.
