Paxos prepares for international music festival Planos Holidays has a number of properties available on the tranquil Ionian island of Paxos during its annual International Music Festival, which will take place between 26 August and 4 September.

International post-graduate students from London’s Guildhall School of Music & Drama will perform a combination of major chamber music alongside less familiar works. In 2007 these included Tchaikovsky’s ‘Souvenirs de Florence’, Beethoven’s ‘Septet’ and Brahms’ Horn Trio, plus the less well-known Concertino by Janacek and Richard Strauss’ ‘Til Eulenspiegel’.

Concerts will take place on 26, 28 and 30 August and 2 and 4 September in The Old Schoolhouse in Loggos, a picturesque fishing village on the north east coast of Paxos.

Planos can arrange travel and accommodation during this period for one or two weeks, based on departures from Gatwick on 18th and 25th August (Bank Holiday Monday).

Among the accommodation available is Gardenia Apartment in the heart of Loggos, which offers wonderful views of the harbour, the Ionian Sea and the mountains of mainland Greece.

An ideal base from which to get to The Old Schoolhouse, as well as the restaurants, tavernas and beaches of Loggos, Gardenia is available for £725 per person for a fortnight, based on two people travelling on 25 August.

Prices include return flights from Gatwick to Corfu, ferry transfers to Paxos and 14 nights’ accommodation. For further details, visit planos.co.uk.
