Off the beaten track in Morocco

Off the beaten track in Morocco Off-Road-Destinations.com launches this week with a series of high adrenaline trips across the deserts and mountains of Morocco by self-driven quad, motorbike or 4x4.

The week-long trips are tailored to the experience of the drivers participating and cost from £1,600 including equipment, protective clothing, accommodation, meals and guide. The first of the trips commences October 4th and sees novice riders introduced to navigation and maintenance techniques, along with those for riding in challenging conditions. Whilst, experienced riders cover more extreme terrain and endurance routes.

Assisted by Off-Road-Destinations.com’s team of highly experienced guides, riders will face challenges from wide desert plains and dry river beds, to rocky mountain tracks and the soft sand of the dunes. Much of the riding takes place in the area south of the Atlas Mountains used for training by Dakar Rally drivers with some of the biggest thrills coming from the freedom of driving, without restriction, for hundreds of miles and gaining an insight into some of Morocco’s wildest and most rugged landscape.

Each trip presents different challenges that are overcome by the group, adding to the sense of adventure and shared experience, which will be amongst its most memorable aspects.

Base camp is a luxury hotel with a swimming pool and air conditioning - a cool calm oasis after the dusty heat of the day. Built in the traditional Berber style, the hotel backs onto the Erg Chebbi dunes where the changing light at dusk shadows across the contours of the dunes and can be enjoyed with a relaxing cool drink.

In addition, each trip has the option of an extended route during which riders will camp under the stars with Bedouin tribesmen, an enlightening experience with the people who have been crossing the desert for thousands of years.

The 7-night packages with 6 days riding costs from £1,600 per person including all route planning, quad/bike hire, fuel, protective clothing hire, accommodation and all meals. Upcoming trips commence October 4, November 8 and December 6.
