Natural Retreats flourish in the Yorkshire Dales

Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Tourist Board, David Andrews commented,
“The blend of very high standards of accommodation and the environmentally sensitive development will provide the perfect holiday destination for discerning visitors”, and indeed this new development will lean heavily on the same sustainable principles and green technology that made their first site in the Yorkshire Dales such a roaring success.
This will match stylish, state-of-the-art amenities with expert green build techniques including sedum roofing, solar-glazing, rainwater collection and a sustainable sewage treatment systems. The guest residences will also be raised above the ground with a “living space” underneath in order to create additional habitats for wildlife – of which there is plenty in the area!
Expect to enjoy classic English countryside at its very best. A previous glacial lake, Natural Retreats North York Moors will lie in the valley between two beautiful moors and is surrounded by thick woodland in which some of the residences will be tucked away. The North York Moors is home to the largest expanse of heather moorland in the UK, and towering sea cliffs, secluded beaches and grassy dales give it a character all of its own. What’s more, the beautiful and historic Whitby, York, Helmsley and the Dalby Forest are all nearby.
Although the number of residences at this new site will surpass that of Natural Retreats Yorkshire Dales, the scale of land is slightly larger and the woodland surrounding the lake will enable guests to maintain a true sense of privacy. Some of the residences will also be placed around the Causeway Lake and one of the most impressive features of the property will be The Sanctuary, a communal and sustainable building constructed in local materials and available for both guests and locals alike to hold meetings, for quiet study, wildlife talks or just to relax and unwind! It is also hoped that local community including schools/groups will be encouraged to use this facility as an educational resource.
Architecturally astounding, it will be located on the edge of the lake with a decking area projecting over the water, giving the impression that the structure floats.
Natural Retreats plan to have established sites in or around all 14 of the UK’s National Parks and with the acquisition of this site in the North York Moors, they are already well on their way.
