On the Go Tours launches into space!
Space Flight - £14,979 per person
Want to fly into space? Take an amazing flight and see for yourself that the Earth is round and that space is black! MIG-29 is one of the most advanced combat airplanes in the Russian Air Force and was designed for gaining air superiority. MIG- 29 “Fulcrum” aircraft was put into service in 1985. Being one of the most advanced airplanes in the world, it has turbojet engines, possesses an advantageous proportion of mass and power, excellent aerodynamics and a wonderful view from the cockpit. All these characteristics ensure the aircraft has maximum effect in an aerial combat. Comparable in size and assigned tasks with the American F-16 and F/A-18 fighters, the MIG - 29 is presently in the service of 23 countries of the world.
SU-27 is one of the most sophisticated airplanes among the fleet of the Russian Air Force. Comparable in size and design to the American F-15 fighter, the SU-27 was designed as a wide action range super-modern interceptor. Its shell is made of high-strength titanium and aluminum alloys. Being one of the most manoeuvrable airplanes in the world, SU-27 can fly with 9g acceleration during aerobatic flying.
Before the flight you will be medically tested for the G-loads survivability. G-load limitations are selected individually according to the physical condition of a client as well as the flying suit. Special instructions are given on how use technical and breathing equipment during the 30-minute flight which will bring you to the boundaries of space.
Available Monday to Friday (subject to availability) and must be booked a minimum of 8 weeks prior to departure. The MIG flights are carried out by 1st class pilots and highly qualified instructors, departing from a military airbase in Nizhny Novgorod (1hr 20m transfer by plane from Moscow).
Star City Centrifuge - £2,979 per person. 7 minutes experiencing the feel of g loads and weightlessness.
A centrifuge is used for simulating both high Gravity load and physiological weightlessness, mimicking flight dynamics and sustained Gs of a rocket-powered flight to the edge of space. It is used to carry out training and medical examination of cosmonauts and military pilots, scientific experiments and tests of space, aviation and scientific equipment prototypes. The world’s largest centrifuge, the TsF-18, is at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and was built to generate up to 10 times the force of gravity. You will experience the immense force of gravity as it simulates a Soyuz rocket launch until reaching the orbit of the ISS and the re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere - the mobile cab is at the end of a long arm and revolves at high speeds to simulate the conditions.
Star City Zero Gravity - £2,979. 1.5hr flight with experienced instructors and 6 minutes of zero gravity onboard your flight.
Feeling like a cosmonaut, you will achieve Zero Gravity onboard the fuselage of an aerobus IL-76 MDK. Zero Gravity or (pure weightlessness) is somewhat similar to the feeling experienced whilst riding a rollercoaster. The manoeuvre is carried out when the aircraft ascends sharply at a 45 degree ‘nose high’ angle. Next the plane is levelled then starts to descend. At this point we reach the zero-gravity segment of the flight. For the next 20 - 25 seconds everything in the plane is weightless.
At approximately 30 degrees ‘nose low’ a gentle pull-out is started which allows the passengers (us) to stabilize on the aircraft floor. After stabilizing the manoeuvre is then repeated. During the 1 1/2hour flight you will undergo 15 sessions of Zero Gravity, each time lasting some 25 seconds with total duration of 6 minutes. (Price is quoted on a per person basis as part of an 11 person group. ie 10 paying passengers and 1 interpreter. Bookings can be made for groups of 10, though can not be booked on a 1 person basis.)
NB – All the above packages are available as bolt ons to any of On the Go’s group or tailor made tours, include return transfers from Moscow and exclude international flights.
