Special interest tours for winter

Prestige Holidays still has availability on three of its autumn/winter special interest holidays, available through tours specialist, The Travellers’ Club. The Ottoman capitals tour of Istanbul, Bursa and Edirne (5 October to 14 October) explores Turkey’s rich history. Highlights include visits to Bursa’s imperial mosques and tombs of the 14th and 15th centuries and to the lively bazaar, centre of the traditional silk industry. In Edirne, explore some of the architect Sinan’s finest mosques and bridges, and in Istanbul visit the Sultan’s Topkapi Palace with its Seraglio and treasury, more mosques and colleges, plus the chance to see some of the earlier Byzantine monuments: Justinian’s magnificent cathedral, Haghia Sophia, and the astonishing underground Cisterns. World class archaeological sites from the earliest times of recorded history and the vibrant cities of Damascus and Aleppo are a few of the remarkable splendours of Jordan and Syria explored on the Travellers Club tour (22 October to 4 November). There is also the chance to take in the desert oasis of Palmyra, the natural beauty of Wadi Rum, crusader castles, and to visit the cities of Petra and Amman, the modern capital of Jordan. The tour costs £1685 per person including flights, half board accommodation and all transport and entrance fees.

Enjoy four days in the fascinating city of Venice (24 to 28 November) staying in luxury at the world famous Danieli Hotel on this Travellers Club tour, taking in the famous sites of St Mark’s, the Rialto, the Doge’s Palace and of course the Grand Canal as well as some lesser known and unique parts of the city. The break costs £845 per person including return flights to Venice, four nights in the Danielis Hotel with breakfast and guided visits.
