Himalaya heritage unveiled In recent years a new breed of traveller is looking for the classic experiences of India and Nepal, but with a little more comfort and support. Recognising this emerging market, tour operator Peregrine has designed two new South Asian tours.

Heritage India 12-days - Delhi to Delhi - £2,230 p/p

Journeying from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur, Jodphur and Udaipur, travellers stay in sensitively restored former palaces and historic buildings, all retaining their character and often still family-owned. For example, in the pastel-painted Indian village of Nimaj Bagh, where few tourists venture, Peregrine’s group stays in the eccentric and charming palace of the Thakir (one social tier down from a maharajah), whose family still resides in what is one of India’s oldest heritage properties. Excursions into the surrounding villages and countryside give a further insight into life in rural India.

Departing Delhi 14th February, 14th March, 11th April 2009, plus others.

Himalaya Unveiled 20-days - India, Nepal & Bhutan – Delhi to Paro - £2,820 p/p

Amongst the astonishing 8,000m-plus mountainscapes of the Annapurna region a short 3-day entry-level trek from Pokhara gives travellers a taster of high level hiking whilst providing longer for cultural explorations. Time in Royal Chitwan National Park, allows for encounters with wildlife in Nepal’s steamy lowland terai, whilst 5-days in the hidden kingdom of Bhutan, including visiting the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is a remarkable conclusion to any Himalayan journey.

Departing Delhi 2nd November and 28th December 2008, 1st February, 1st March and 5th April 2009, plus others.

For the first time, tour costs factor-in carbon offsetting of land and air components, as well as accommodation, meals, Peregrine Trek packs (where appropriate,) transport and local flights. International flights are not included.
