Planos Holidays arranges safe return of clients

16th September 2008 Print
Planos Holidays, the specialist tour operator to Paxos, together with its sister companies Just Grenada and Just Tobago, all of which use XL Airways, have made arrangements via the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for the safe return of all their clients following the demise of the charter airline early on Friday morning.

Says Gerry Copsey, MD of the ATOL Bonded Planos Holidays Group: "We have approximately 80 passengers currently on holiday in Paxos and the Caribbean and, with the help of the CAA, we aim to fly them all home as close to their planned flight dates as possible."

Copsey continues: "In addition, we have made arrangements with British Airways for all of our clients who are booked to travel to the Caribbean over the next six weeks, and we are currently in negotiations with another airline which is planning to take over the routes later this year.

"As yet, we have been unable to re-book flights for next week’s holidaymakers to Paxos. However, we are continuing to do our utmost to find alternative arrangements for all of our clients who were planning to travel out to the Greek Islands during the last two weeks of the holiday season.

"We are also in negotiations with another airline to ensure that we are able to continue offering holidays to Paxos next year and beyond."

Mr Copsey, who has been arranging holidays to Paxos for almost 21 years, concludes: "Our clients are so thankful that they booked their holidays with an ATOL bonded tour operator, which guarantees them total financial protection in an event such as this airline collapse."
